Can’t Miss Information to Meet Patient Needs.

More than 44 million American adults have a mental health condition. Even more, the rate of youth experiencing a mental health condition is on the rise according to Mental Health America’s annual State of Mental Health in America Report.

Behavioral health conditions (mental illnesses, substance use disorders) often go under-diagnosed and identified late. That delays treatment, and  leads to poorer health outcomes and higher costs of care.

These conditions can often be identified and treated in a primary care setting. That means seamless care for patients. Improving treatment of behavioral health conditions, and other chronic medical conditions, results in better health outcomes overall.

How NCQA Distinction in Behavioral health helps primary care practices better integrate behavioral healthcare into their care delivery.

The Benefits of Behavioral Health Integration and Distinction

  • Stand out. Demonstrate to patients, payers and partners that your practice has the right resources, evidence-based protocols, standardized tools and quality measures in the primary care setting to support the needs of patients.
  • Improve outcomes. Distinction results in an enhanced level of care and improved access, clinical outcomes and patient experience.
  • Deliver whole-person care. Distinction helps practices provide comprehensive care that acknowledges patients’ behavioral health needs beyond the core requirements of NCQA PCMH Recognition.

Best Practices In Behavioral Health Distinction is a look at NCQA’s Behavioral Health Distinction requirements and an overview of best-practice approaches to implementation from faculty who have helped practices achieve this Distinction.

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe Behavioral Health Distinction requirements and Q-PASS enrollment.
  • Identify challenges to behavioral health integration and opportunities for support.
  • Construct a strategy to implement Behavioral Health Distinction within different practice settings.
  • Prepare Behavioral Health Distinction for presentation to NCQA through the virtual review process

Oh, and Don’t Forget Maintenance of Certification Credit

And a bonus: This on-demand webinar provides maintenance of certification credit (2 points) under “required continuing education” for PCMH CCEs. This is a non AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM, ANA CNE, APA, ACPE and ASWB ACE activity.
